"Puppets of Praise"
August 15, 2009

Greetings from the Bayou!   It’s official! Crocodile Dock was a HUGE success! Our kids had a great time learning what it means to see God in our everyday lives and how to not be afraid! “FEAR NOT!” They had a great time playing fun and creative games, making some really neat crafts and they had so much fun learning the songs that they are still singing them 2 weeks later! So many of the kids were overheard talking about how much fun the Bible Bayou was! They were able to interact with each other and learn that God is with them, that He is powerful, He does what He says He will do, He gave us life and that He cares for us so much! “FEAR NOT!” With all of these attributes, we have nothing to be afraid of!   During our week at VBS we were able to show the kids what it means to help out others. One mission we had was called “Operation Kid-to-Kid”. As one of our crafts our kids stuffed Comfort Critters (soft, fuzzy, green turtles) that were sponsored by our own church family. These Turtles will be sent to different kids across the United States that have been through natural disasters (tornadoes, hurricanes, fires, etc) giving them comfort when they may not have any. Our kids were able to write messages and draw pictures to place in a small pocket on their turtle to share God with our critter recipients. Our church family sponsored 140 of those critters! How awesome!   We also decided to do a more local mission and this year we had the kids bring in pennies for a Penny Challenge. We challenged our kids to bring in as many pennies as they could and each day we had a prize for them. Through the week, the kids were able to meet the goals that we set and in turn, Katie kissed a goat and Christy, Sandy, Chelsy and I all got a pie in the face. Can I tell you how awesome our kids are!? They brought in over $1,000 for the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital! Our money is specifically going to supply kids that are in the hospital for a length of time with fun things to do (crafts, puzzles, toys, etc). We chose Cincinnati Children’s because we have had several of our own kids, and even one of our leaders, that have been there for treatment of some kind. We also have groups of people that are matching some of what the kids brought in. What a wonderful gift for those kids! Thank you to all that helped make VBS happen. Everyone that put in time decorating, teaching, leading, donating and praying. We were able to bring an average of 80 kids a little closer to Christ! Isn’t He amazing?? First, I would simply like to thank you for allowing me to become a part of your church family by taking on this role. I look forward to coming alongside you as parents and congregational members in raising these children to be believers and followers of Christ.

I have a lot of great ideas to not only make FCC a safe place for kids to learn but also a place to have a great time and get excited and be on fire for Christ! I hope you are all just as excited as I am to see what God has in store for us!
